To give you an idea of what an email style of communication would be, here is an example of a dialogue between someone and myself concerning whether to attend one of my classes (in this case it is the WEB IMPROVEMENT CLASS) but because email access is a feature of both the Blog and The Web Class, I share it here. Secondly, I'm sharing it as a further way to offer ideas for you to promote your blog and perhaps get something else from all of this. Anyway, here goes. This is the dialogue:
Hello again! I will try my best to address your questions within your message below. If you have further comments/questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Hi, Ter,
I am the person who emailed you with the question. Thank you for answering, better late than never. We have not found a web site provider.
I can offer you a few ideas as to who to use as your provider. I know that cost is a concern, so I will keep that in mind. There are actually a few places that offer a "no cost" solution with optional features that you can add later which requires a fee.
I don't even know what questions to ask. One question is , "What if we don't have a blog?"
A blog and a website are two different things. You may actually want to consider starting with a blog and later turn it into a website or have a website and use a blog, as an additional feature to your blog.
Example:
Here is a blog that I maintain for a group. You might consider just having something like this at first and promote it to your membership, target audience, etc. :
Here is an example of one of my blogs that became a website simply by adding a domain name to it (so it doesn't end with the "blogspot.com"): www.attainmentrules.com.
Here is one of my websites that is a website with a blog that is linked to it. www.twinportslife.com. Click on "Twin Ports" within the welcome box (Welcome to "Good Happenings" for February in the Twin Ports), or at the top were it states: "Our Blog".
We are a small, volunteer travel group who plan trips with the senior population in mind. We do all right, but I would like to be able to communicate with a larger segment of this population.
Once you have either a blog or a website up and running, I can assist you with ideas to promote it; to the "larger segment of this population".
So, I would go to the class, but is it appropriate if we don't have a blog? Bye. Laurene
