Example of MASTER WEB CLASS Email Dialogue

In this MASTER BLOG CLASS, either the physical classroom or the virtual online version, you have a limited time of email access to me for your questions and comments (you have unlimited access via the comment section after every post such as this one).

To give you an idea of what an email style of communication would be, here is an example of a dialogue between someone and myself concerning whether to attend one of my classes (in this case it is the WEB IMPROVEMENT CLASS) but because email access is a feature of both the Blog and The Web Class, I share it here. Secondly, I'm sharing it as a further way to offer ideas for you to promote your blog and perhaps get something else from all of this. Anyway, here goes. This is the dialogue:

Hello again! I will try my best to address your questions within your message below. If you have further comments/questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Hi, Ter,
I am the person who emailed you with the question. Thank you for answering, better late than never. We have not found a web site provider.
I can offer you a few ideas as to who to use as your provider. I know that cost is a concern, so I will keep that in mind. There are actually a few places that offer a "no cost" solution with optional features that you can add later which requires a fee.
I don't even know what questions to ask. One question is , "What if we don't have a blog?"
A blog and a website are two different things. You may actually want to consider starting with a blog and later turn it into a website or have a website and use a blog, as an additional feature to your blog.
Example:
Here is a blog that I maintain for a group. You might consider just having something like this at first and promote it to your membership, target audience, etc. :
Here is an example of one of my blogs that became a website simply by adding a domain name to it (so it doesn't end with the "blogspot.com"): www.attainmentrules.com.
Here is one of my websites that is a website with a blog that is linked to it. www.twinportslife.com. Click on "Twin Ports" within the welcome box (Welcome to "Good Happenings" for February in the Twin Ports), or at the top were it states: "Our Blog".

We are a small, volunteer travel group who plan trips with the senior population in mind. We do all right, but I would like to be able to communicate with a larger segment of this population.
Once you have either a blog or a website up and running, I can assist you with ideas to promote it; to the "larger segment of this population".
So, I would go to the class, but is it appropriate if we don't have a blog? Bye. Laurene---
I look forward to seeing you in one of the classes. Please check your local area for dates and times.
Make it a great day!
Ter

SHOW ME THE MONEY TIP: Having your blog linked to your website brings people who "stumble upon" it to your site where you can sell them.

Tell 'em what you do; not who you are!

One thing I always tell my clients (and my blog and web improvement students) is that it’s great to get your personal name and company name out there in the ethers of the Internet. However, always know that customers may not know your name or remember it when they have a situation (my term for “problem”).
First, get “what you do” out there because, let's say, when a person needs a car fixed, they will use search terms like: fix my car, car trouble, and engine overheating. They don’t use search terms like: Bob’s Garage, Joe’s Mechanics Plus, etc. because they don’t know your company exists, or many times if they do, they may not remember if it is Joe’s Garage, or Bob’s Garage and they may even search and select your competitor!
Secondly, get your name out there. For people to remember “Joe’s Garage”, this requires repeated “branding” over time, and if someone who is passing through and has car trouble, they will use what I call the “trouble” key search terms!
Thirdly, use both “trouble” and “problem” key word phrases and your name; but because people may not know or remember that you exist, put most of your money where the “trouble” is.

Here’s an example by Yours Truly:

You can search Ter Scott by using any search engine and even by placing “Ter Scott” in the address bar at the top of your Internet page and you’ll see that I’m “all over” the web and with different products and services. (Try doing the same with your name, or company name and see what happens; this is a good exercise to see if you exist).

But as I was mentioning earlier, unless people have seen me or heard of me, they aren’t doing this. After getting a contact from my office, or other advertising vehicle, they may search my name. That’s great because when they see me all over, this gives me added credibility (and the same with you and your name).

My situation is that I wasn’t getting (enough) hits from people searching for marketing consulting, graphic design, public speaking andtraining, or the imprinted promotional products. So, the lesson I share here with you is that you want to use “key word” rich terms in your blog titles, labels, and in the content of your blog post to draw these people using these search terms.

Here is an actual case where I posted a short blurb on my blog: http://newtonrep.blogspot.com/ about getting imprinted promotional pens from me in only 48 hours. When you go there you’ll see the title: Ter Scott in Duluth MN supplies IMPRINTED PENS for your organization in 48 hours. In the title I use my name, and location, plus I use the words: imprinted pens, and 48 hours. People who are searching for imprinted pen suppliers in Duluth MN (and at the very short run time of 48 hours) should be able to find this blog easily.

In a future blog post here, I may delve in a bit deeper as to how and why I used the image and had it linked to my website: www.myimprintrep.com so I can reap the orders.

HOW TO MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR BLOG: Use your blog to create interest and link it to your website where you will take the order.

I’ll let you know how my pen sales are!

Make it a great day!

Ter

Doing Little Things Make BIG BLOGGING Results

OK, I’m very excited to show you another way I manage 100 blogs...

using what one of my mentors, Tony Robbins, states as “doing little things to make big results”. I use a “piggyback” technique. Since my viewers of different blogs are not the same, I can adapt certain content of one blog so it applies to another. I’m kind of doing this here as I will first explain how I arrived at the content, and then used it as something for one of my blogs; followed by giving you the link to go and see it for yourself.

This morning in my reading time (readers are leaders; and it’s great fodder for ideas) I ran across a quote that I thought would help someone as a compliment from me. So I created an email and sent it to the person. I saved the email and used it as an example as something to do to create a good work environment and used it as a post in my Happy Worker Blog: http://happyworkerbee.blogspot.com/. (For the full learning experience here, I suggest that you go there now, read it and then return here; just click on the link). And now, I’m sharing the process with you, my master blog class reader!

I few serendipities of doing this were that I figured out how to add an Amazon widget within the actual post of the blog (not on the right side using the gadget process) by using the HTML option. I’m thinking many people don’t know how to do this. I will share it in a future post here, or you can email me (using the address given you in the class or course manual) stating that you have already searched this blog and have read “How to Add an Amazon Widget to you Blog” because you really need to know that information/process first). And secondly, I created an idea for a company training program: “Catch the Coach” ™; details at: www.terscott.com/catchgood.

Hope all is well with you and your blogging today; make it a great one!

Ter

Q and A is my Favorite Part of Teaching

I recently finished another in-class Master Blog Class for a small elite group of current and soon to be bloggers. (If you are out here in the virtual classroom of the Internet, let me know if you’d like details as to when I have a day seminar in your area and I'll be sure to let you know). I was very pleased with the questions and comments that came about. Q and A is my favorite time.

At the beginning of each class I present some things in general about myself, and about blogging in and then follow with a bit about some of the “blogging dreams and goals” of the attendees. Then I present the material and later take questions at the end of each class because I know that students come to class at all different levels of experience and learning. I want to get through the "from-the-start" basics in a step-by -step fashion and then I can take on questions after each participant has at least the basics of blogging.
As usual, there were questions about blogging specifics and the “show me the money” questions. It doesn’t matter if you are Tony Robbins, Bob Proctor, Tom Antion or Ter Scott, it seems that most people in the audience want to know about making money.
I presented a few options in earning income directly from your blog by placing AdSense, Amazon, and affiliate links on your blog and also a few indirect ways for you blog to make you money such as by establishing you as an expert in the eyes of your customers, keeping your name and face out there in the public eyes, etc. If you would like a link to my webpage that offers several great ways to make money both directly and indirectly from your blog, email me using the email address you have in the manual. (You get the manual when you request it by going to www.terscott.com/blogability and registering and either paying for the online version and get the complete downloadable course or if you’ve already been to my class seminar, you also register, but you use the (“secret”) code given to you in class- so you don’t have to pay again.
Of course, to find ways to make money blogging, you could do a search online to find some ideas on your own. You could even add the words “Ter Scott” to your key phrase (such as “Ter Scott Blogging Money”) and maybe you’ll find even more good information about making money with blogging.
That’s it for now. Make it a great day!
Terrific. Energizing. Results!

PS. I’m just starting this new BLOG COACHING Program. If you own a business, you need a blog and you need to do it correctly. You are missing out on so many opportunities by not having one. My mentors in business such as Tony Robbins (motivation) and Dean Graziosi (Real Estate) and others always say that it’s important to have a coach because it saves you time and money because you won’t have such a big learning curve and you won’t have to reinvent the wheel. Give me a try. You’ll get 90 days (up to 4 email communications and one 30 minute phone call with me per month). Register for my online Master Blog Class System at the same time (or enter your “secret class ATTENDANCE code” if you’ve already been in my class or have the online version) and you can get the first month free and only pay for months two and three. It’s very low priced; at least for now! Go to www.terscott.com/blogcoaching.
PSS. Have you signed on as a follower to this blog? Get notifications when each new post is entered; never miss the tips and tricks as they become available! If you've been to my physical classroom or all day blogging seminar, your first assignment is to leave a comment at the most recent post on this page, and to register as a follower at the right side of this page; have you completed your assignment?

Get More Comments to Your Posts

Are people leaving comments at the end of your posts? Here’s a simple way to have people offer their comments… ask them!
Many business owners (if you have a blog, consider yourself in business, if only to “sell” your information or views) think they have to have fancy surveys, etc. This is not true. A simple “kitchen sink” type of a questions list can work just fine.
Just as in sales, no one gets the sale unless they ask for it; sometimes it is subtle and sometimes blatant, but always the salesperson asks for the order. Since you are not reading my sales blog, I will get off that subject and on to getting people to comment.
From experience, I know that people read my blog entries but many times do not leave a comment. Comments are important because it shows other visitors and sponsors to your blog that you have traffic; and having traffic builds more traffic!

Anyway, I know people have been to my blog but haven’t left their comments simply because they don’t know how! I’m going to show you how to first ask your readers to leave their comment, and then how you can make it so easy for them to do so.
I’ve taught online at a university for some time now and as part of assignments I’ve had students visit my sight, read an article and comment. However, many students were “new” to blogs and didn’t know where or how to place their comment. This was an enlightenment to me and told me that I needed to make this easier for people to post.
TIP: (If you are an instructor, you should be doing this. The blog I used for assignments is: http://instantpublicspeaker.blogspot.com/. Also if you are a doctor, dentist or chiropractor you should have a blog and ask clients to post comments, if you have any business create a blog and “bribe” people to read and comment on your posts by offering incentives, coupons, specials etc., well hopefully you get the point.  Since this is not my marketing blog: http://terscott.blogspot.com/, I’ll get back to blogging and getting people to comment on what you are blogging!).
If you haven’t read 10 Reasons Why Blogging is Good for You and Good for Business:, I encourage you to do so now at: http://www.terscott.com/blogability.
So, here’s what to do:
This requires a few extra steps after posting, but I think it is worth it. At the end of each post, end something like this: Question: “How can… like I have described here help you to …. (use something having to do with your post) and continue with: You can leave a comment by clicking here”.
Now go ahead and publish it. Then, look at the published post and right click on “no comments” at the bottom of your new post to “copy shortcut”. Go back into “your backroom” by clicking on Design, click on “posts” and then find your post. Hold the curser just under the listing, click on edit to open your post. Find the sentence: “…leave a comment by clicking here”, highlight it, go to the link icon above the box and paste your shortcut link. Now click on the “update” tab and now you are done! Try it. Go to your post, click on the link and it goes right to your comment box!
GET A ROUTINE GOING...

It’s best to have a “routine list” that you refer to when creating your blog entries (as you should with all tasks; I have one for my sales at www.myimprintrep.com and with my eBay sales at www.terscott.com/bargainbasement so I am sure to give my customers the best and prompt service that I can) which helps to automate, systematize and save you time. If you would like a copy of my 10 POINT BLOG CHECKLIST just request it by using my contact information at the upper top right side of my site: www.terscott.com/blogability. It’s free; just be sure to use BLOG CHECKLIST PLEASE in subject line.
Hope you enjoy this information today and use it to get more posts at your blog. And because I practice what I preach, here goes:
How would you like to get more comments with your blog posts? Please leave your question and comments BY CLICKING here.
Make it a great day!
