Bad Vampire, bad. Don't Click Here on Your Blog

CAUTION: Don’t click on these links in your stats area! (My blog followers get important informational posts like this one immediately in their email saving them lots of trouble. Click on “Follow by Email” at the right to join).

If you have a blog and check to see where the traffic to your blog originates, you may notice traffic from websites called Vampirestat.com, Adsensewatchdog.com, Villainstat.com, Uglystat.com and/or Zombiestat.com. First off, don't click on them to find out why they are sending you traffic.

So says SpamSpoiler blog: http://spamspoiler.blogspot.com/2012/12/adsense-watchdog-zombiestat-vampirestat.html

I was looking at the stats of my newest blog: http://myimprintpen.blogspot.com and saw vampirestat.com showing up in Stats area. I’ve been through this before and saved my readers heartache (see: http://masterblogclass.blogspot.com/2012/05/when-i-was-checking-the-web-traffic.html).

So moral of story: you may be getting clicks but they are not true, or accurate by any means. And more importantly DO NOT click on these sites within your stats page. Doing so may cause great harm to your computer!
If you are not a follower of this blog, you may not be getting this insightful information that will save you hours of heartache. Why not sign on at the right, it’s free and takes only a moment.

Ter Scott Teaches Internet Classes in Duluth MN and Online

I will be teaching my three top Internet classes both in Duluth Minnesota (go to: http://www.duluthcommunityed.org/ClassCatalog.aspx)   and now in Superior Wisconsin (go to: http://www.witc.edu/continuing-education/). ONLINE VERSION LINKS FOLLOW BELOW:

Most students participate in all three classes because they do “build” upon each other but you can just take the one(s) that interest you. If you’ve taken the course before you may want to join us again because it is always a great refresher and I always gear the class (somewhat) to the specific audience present. Also, if you’ve stumbled upon this notice on the web, I offer online training (so you won’t have to come to the Twin Ports; Duluth or Superior) which is customized to the individual and the links are listed below each description below.

I look forward to seeing you in class!
Make it a great day!

USING SITES LIKE YAHOO ANSWERS TO DRIVE TRAFFIC

I will show you how you can use sites such as Yahoo Answers to drive traffic to your blog or site. Now you may be thinking that this takes time to do this and yes it does. However this is an “evergreen” approach which means you do this once and it will always be there and new people come to your site each time it is seen. Here’s my 3 step approach:

1.       First create a blog post (or web page) using a topical question, phrase, etc.
2.       Do a Google (my favorite search engine) search for the question, phrase. This how I found Yahoo Answers for my phrase: “Bent Out of Shape”.
3.       Place your answer and list your link to your blog or web site page.

Now whenever someone has that question, searches for it, your answer and link is there.
They read it and visit your blog or web page. Cool huh?

Here’s what I did. STEP ONE:
I placed this post in my Newton Blog (I sell imprinted promotional items to businesses all over the great USA via www.myimprintrep.com/123order and this is one of my blogs about Newton Manufacturing the “over 100 year old company” that I represent). You can see the actual post at the blog: http://newtonrep.blogspot.com/.
……………………………………………
Here it is; my explanation continues after this excerpt……………

Bent out of shape in Duluth Minnesota? Ter Scott offers the solution.
Everyone and everything is “bent out of shape” from time to time; no worries- it happens. We need to roll with it and have fun with it. In five years from now, will it really matter? And, five years goes by really fast.
Since I’m in marketing (Ter Scott IS Marketing and Man of 100 Blogs) I have found the solution for taking advantage of this dilemma and turning it into a marketing tactic. When someone talks about things being out of shape you can say “Funny that you say that, here’s something to remember us by” and give them one of our Logo Shaped Paperclips. Or just give them one and say something like, “remember us when you get bent out of shape”. And believe me they will because this is a useful desk item to keep papers together in a very fun way. We also have stock shapes too. Just visit: www.myimprintrep.com/123order and complete the form mentioning Logo Shaped Clips in the comments area and someone will get back to you “freaky fast” (can I use that, I’m hungry just now and you probably know where I’m going; don’t get bent out of shape about it!).

………………….OK, continuing………………………

So that’s my blog post. You’ll also see the photo picture of the LOGO PAPER CLIPS
with a link that takes the reader directly to my site: www.myimprintrep.com

STEP TWO. I found Yahoo Answers by simply placing “Bent out of shape”
in the Google search bar.
STEP THREE: I went to the Yahoo answer site:  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006011502969 and posted:

"Bent out of shape" means that someone is rattled about something; usually politics or religion or they are just having a "bad day". As a marketer, I try to use everything as a "marketing opportunity" like using a LOGO SHAPED bent paper clip: http://marketingmasterclass.blogspot.com Funny phrase!

That’s it. Now sit back (actually do something else while you’re waiting because this may take some time to get this traffic; it will be small but consistent and will continue for years; as long as people are searching for this phrase) and wait for the traffic.

Make it a great day and don’t forget to become a “follower by email”
at the right to get this and other great posts by yours truly right in your email box!

Terrific. Energizing. Results!

PS. I never like to let “good copy” go to waste and use it in many areas.
So, I took this comment and threw it up on Facebook!

Never “answered” anything in Yahoo Answers before and want to know how? I Googled: How to place your own answer in Yahoo Answers and got this page:
FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES:
NOTE: Most of these types of forums and similar sites require that you register and sign in each time. My recommendation is to do so and create a favorites folder on your Internet browser for ease of access and have a list of the most often used links in a Word document that you can open and click to get to them quicker than having to search and open each time you do this.
