I will show you how you can use sites such as Yahoo
Answers to drive traffic to your blog or site. Now you may be thinking that
this takes time to do this and yes it does. However this is an “evergreen”
approach which means you do this once and it will always be there and new people
come to your site each time it is seen. Here’s my 3 step approach:
1.
First create a blog post (or web page) using a
topical question, phrase, etc.
2.
Do a Google (my favorite search engine) search
for the question, phrase. This how I found Yahoo Answers for my phrase: “Bent
Out of Shape”.
3.
Place your answer and list your link to your
blog or web site page.
Now whenever someone has that question, searches for it,
your answer and link is there.
They read it and visit your blog or web page.
Cool huh?
Here’s what I did. STEP ONE:
I placed this post in my Newton
Blog (I sell imprinted promotional items to businesses all over the great USA
via
www.myimprintrep.com/123order
and this is one of my blogs about Newton Manufacturing the “over 100 year old
company” that I represent). You can see the actual post at the blog:

Here it is; my explanation continues after
this excerpt……………
Bent out of shape in Duluth Minnesota? Ter Scott offers the solution.
Everyone and everything is “bent out of shape” from time to
time; no worries- it happens. We need to roll with it and have fun with it. In
five years from now, will it really matter? And, five years goes by really
fast.
Since I’m in marketing (Ter Scott IS Marketing and Man of
100 Blogs) I have found the solution for taking advantage of this dilemma and
turning it into a marketing tactic. When someone talks about things being out
of shape you can say “Funny that you say that, here’s something to remember us
by” and give them one of our Logo Shaped Paperclips. Or just give them one and
say something like, “remember us when you get bent out of shape”. And believe
me they will because this is a useful desk item to keep papers together in a
very fun way. We also have stock shapes too. Just visit:
www.myimprintrep.com/123order
and complete the form mentioning Logo Shaped Clips in the comments area and
someone will get back to you “freaky fast” (can I use that, I’m hungry just now
and you probably know where I’m going; don’t get bent out of shape about it!).
………………….OK, continuing………………………
So that’s my blog post. You’ll also see the photo picture of
the LOGO PAPER CLIPS
STEP TWO. I found Yahoo Answers by simply placing “Bent out
of shape”
in the Google search bar.
"Bent out of shape" means that someone is rattled
about something; usually politics or religion or they are just having a
"bad day". As a marketer, I try to use everything as a
"marketing opportunity" like using a LOGO SHAPED bent paper clip:
http://marketingmasterclass.blogspot.com Funny phrase!
That’s it. Now sit back (actually do something else while
you’re waiting because this may take some time to get this traffic; it will be
small but consistent and will continue for years; as long as people are
searching for this phrase) and wait for the traffic.
Make it a great day and don’t forget to become a “follower
by email”
at the right to get this and other great posts by yours truly right
in your email box!
Terrific. Energizing. Results!
PS. I never like to let “good copy” go to waste and use it
in many areas.
So, I took this comment and threw it up on Facebook!
Never “answered” anything in Yahoo Answers before and want
to know how? I Googled: How to place your own answer in Yahoo Answers and got
this page:
FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES:
NOTE: Most of these types of forums and similar sites
require that you register and sign in each time. My recommendation is to do so
and create a favorites folder on your Internet browser for ease of access and
have a list of the most often used links in a Word document that you can open
and click to get to them quicker than having to search and open each time you
do this.
