Best reason to Blog using Blogger

Students and clients ask me when I’m teaching or speaking at organization’s luncheons and dinner meetings*, “why choose Blogger for your creating and hosting your blog”?. I reminded of one such answer when I opened blogger this morning to enter a post at one of my most successful blogs: www.attainmentrules.com. Blogger states this right up front when you go to the log in page: Create a blog. It's free. Pretty neat, huh?

Hope you have requested your pdf manual if you’ve attended one of my classroom style Master Blog classes. If you’ve come to this blog via the Internet, welcome. Either way, sign up at: www.terscott.com/blogability.

*I’m available to speak at “no fee” for organization’s luncheon and dinner meetings. Topics include: Blogging for Business, Got GOMO, Personal PR (my great selling Kindle book), and Change your Handwriting and Change your Business. For more details, please visit: www.terscott.com/biztalks.

Best blogging!

Ter
PS. I was entering a post in my www.attainmentrules.com site which is a blog created here via Blogger that I purchased a domain name and "redirect" it to the blog. It's also has a subscription price at Amazon which gets more traffic. If you want to get more information as to how to turn your blog into a site with your own domain name and/or to sell a subscription of your blog at Amazon, just let me know. (This is available only to students of the Master Blog class. Use the email address you get when you are "in" the class using BLOGGER SITE in CAPS in the subject line. You'll get the information at no cost!).

Get Same Offers as the Bentleyville Sponsors

Many readers of this Master Blog Class own businesses or organizations that they blog about. In this post, I'm going to first rave about a wonderful event in Duluth Minnesota and the sponsors who make it possible, and offer readers of this blog the same great marketing offers I offer to the sponsors. It's another way for me to get the word out about this great event. Here goes!

Bentleyville is now open and it's better than ever!

I don't know about you but as a kid, everything seemed bigger, and the lights seemed "brighter" at Christmas. This is a spectacular sight for young and old and I especially enjoy reliving the joy of the holiday through the eyes of my grandkids as they walk (or are held) and look in amazement at all the festive lights!

It is "free" for the public to attend and people come from all over the world to see the tallest Christmas tree and all. But of course we know that nothing is "free" and there is a hidden cost not seen by the attendees. I want to express my thanks to all who make this possible and to do so in a tangible way.

Here are my 3 offers...
The Duluth News Tribune has a full page "Thank You" to the sponsors and lists them. To all businesses listed below, I offer the following promotions:

  • Get last column pricing with the NEWTON MANUFACTURING Virtual Catalog, and save hundreds off your imprinted promotional items until November 30, 2012 at: www.myimprintrep.com/catalog123. (Expires 11.30/12).
So enjoy all that Bentleyville offers, and thank all the sponsors listed below (and sponsors, take advantage of the above offers). Also, don't forget to help out by bringing a non-perishable food item or new unwrapped toy for the Salvation army Food & Toy Drive!
Make it a great day!

Here comes a new blog: T Man Guitar

I just deleted an old blog and created a new blog (blogger only allows 100 blogs).

The new blog is T Man Guitar. (You can view it at: http://tmanguitar.blogspot.com/).

I've played guitar since I was 15 and somehow "work" gets in the way. Finally I'm making playing (and teaching) "work" so it gets a little priority. By giving lessons I will be "forced" to give more time to my guitar and writing talents and not "die with my music in me" as was stated by Wayne Dyer in his Seven Secrets to a Joyful Life.

The site will be used in conjunction with the lessons that I will present in a few homes of those who qualify for my time and are fortunate to live close by. But most importantly viewers of this blog will benefit from the "fresh" teachings and up to date "inspiration" that will come from these in home teaching sessions.

The reason I'm here sharing this with my Master Blogging students is that this blog has a few design elements that most of my other blogs do not. Here it is "fun" and I really don't care if readers come and go. So, I placed videos and news reels here to add interest. I've added much more Ad Sense ads here, and will add affiliate ads via Clickbank, Commission Junction, and Amazon soon (if not already by the time you read this).

Make it a great day!

Ter
Terrific. Energizing, Results!

PS. If you want to know how to add elements like ClickBank ads, and those from Commission Junction, and Amazon, search this blog or consider becoming a Master Blogger by attending the online class; it's only $29 for a limited time: www.terscott.com/blogability.

Manage Multiple Blogs

How to Manage Multiple Blogs

People seem impressed when I tell them that I have 100 Blogs. First they ask me why, and I tell them it’s so I can teach others, and so I can earn income. Usually they ask how I can manage them all. My answer to that seems to be “ongoing” because managing 100 blogs is “ongoing”.

I’ve shared some ways that I do this in other blog entries. As I’m working on updating a few blogs right now, I thought I would share what I’m doing while it’s “fresh” in my mind.

I haven’t updated all of my blogs to the “new look” of blogger, which is fine because everything simply transfers “as is” and most of the new blogger stuff is in the “back area”, but there are new templates and designs that I will eventually play with. For now, I just want to be sure that I add at least one post to each blog on a frequent basis. In an earlier post, I explained that each post doesn’t need to be a “novel” that requires a huge amount of time on your part, but the content must be interesting and valuable. Today I will share what I do to “rotate” my blogs to keep them “fresh”.

As a high school kid, I worked at A&W. One of my tasks was to go in the walk-in freezer and “rotate” the meat stock. The older food was placed up front to be used first. Basically that’s what I’m doing with my blogs.

When you open the design area you’ll see the back area for that blog; where you can change things up. In the upper left side you see “My Blogs”. When I click on “My Blogs” a page opens labeled “Ter Scott’s Blogs” and shows five titles. Scrolling down the page, you’ll see where it states: “View More”; click on it. Now you’ll see all of your blogs listed. (Blogger only lets you have 100 blogs). This is what’s important: the blogs you’ve worked on recently are on the top of the list, and the blogs that you’ve worked on lastly are at the bottom. If you don’t add posts to your blogs on a regular basis, they become what are referred to as “Ghost Blogs”. People find your blog, but you (the blogger) are not home! I have seen blogs with only one post, way back in 2003 or something. Hmmmm.

On a regular basis, I add a comment to one or two of the blog at the top of the list because these are the “most important” usually because they are attached to one of my websites, or used in conjunction to one of my seminars and classes. But here is the way I keep blogs “rotated”. I work on one or two at the top of the list, but then I scroll down to the bottom and add a post to the blog at the bottom. I may spend more time in the blog modifying the template, the gadgets, etc. etc. But minimally, I add one post. The next time I open blogger, that blog is now at the top, and I repeat the process.

I hope this helps you. You may not have 100 posts yet, but you may have several. This is a way to keep things rotated and fresh for your readers.

Make it a great day!

Ter

Hope this idea works for you.

Adding PayPal Buttons to Blogs Bring in the Money

You need to pat yourself on the back if you are coming here regularly (make it easy by following my email on the right; we won’t “spam”) because this is the first place I post my blogging activities.

Everything I do via blogging is a learning experience that I can pass on to my students. You may know that I have at least 100 blogs with Blogger alone, so when I do something I usually multiply it my 100.
Today I made changes to all 100 sites by adding a PAYPAL DONATE button on each.

In my MASTER BLOG CLASS (available via the Internet and select cities via Community Education Classes) my students constantly ask: “show me the money” and rightly so because the title of the class is: Create a Blogin 5 Minutes and Make Money Forever. Adding a donation button is one such way.

Have you been to one of my Blog Classes or are you an Online Blog Class Student? If so, email me at the email I gave you using DONATE BUTTON QUES in the subject line (yes, use all CAPS) and I will reply with the steps on how to do this!

Not all of my blogs are appropriate for “donating” to support the blog, so in that case I state that either all or part of the donations will go to a charity. So you see here that it requires time on the blogger’s part to create and present good content which should be worth paying for; this is one way to earn income for your time in front of your computer. Secondly, you can be seen as a person interested in helping worthwhile causes.

Here are a few blog addresses to show you the different options I chose to give part or all monies to a charity or keep the money for supporting the blog:

Here I offer counseling at no cost via this blog so a donation is appropriate. http://secretrulesforattainment.blogspot.com/

Here I donate 100% to Animal Allies:

At this site I let people know that the site requires support to stay on the Internet:

And with this site I do not use any description or title:

All of the above sites offer a wealth of information to the serious (and profitable) blogger and are a great source to learn from. (Here is a “live” list of clickable links to some of my blogs so you can visit them and hopefully benefit from seeing how I present things. Also don’t forget to spend time weekly visiting Blogger’s BLOGS OF NOTE): http://blogslistblog.blogspot.com/.

Of course it has taken me several hours to copy and paste the PayPal code onto each of my blog dashboard page, but it should be worth it and I only have to do this one time. On some I just pasted the code for the Donate button and with others I included a title which explains the donate button and/or used “key word phrases” to help the search engines find it; I can always go back and edit at any time.

I’m a bit exhausted now having sat here for a couple of hours. This has been “work” but I've planted the seeds and the income will grow with or without me; automatically. Now for some relaxation.

See you next time!

PS. You can now get private coaching via phone. Email me at the address you get when you take my class/course using BLOG COACHING in the subject line. Details will be at: www.terscott.com/blogcoaching very soon!

PSS. Here is one of my old blogs: http://blogmasterclass.blogspot.com/. You might want to look at it now before I update it. I think it will give you hope in that you can do this; and also that Blogger itself is always changing (hopefully for the better!).

Blogging Riches

Again I want all readers to know that blogs can help blogs.

I've recently "resurrected" an old "ghost blog" that I had not updated for sometime. Here is the address. I'd appreciate by blogging students (and anyone else out there) to leave a comment after the most recent post and tell me your thoughts:

Learn from Blogs of Note

I will soon be creating an “idea sheet” to help you create ideas and blog topics to both get you started and also to keep you going with a single or many blogs. For now, you may go to my webpage which shows my blogs, many which are clickable which takes you directly to my blog or you can copy and paste into a new address bar and get there that way. Just by looking at the titles you can get some ideas for topics and when you visit each, you’ll get ideas for layout ideas.

Also note that now when you log in to Blogger.com, you’ll see “Blogs of Note”. Any serious blogger would make it a point to visit at least one Blog of Note weekly and learn from the best!
Wow, I clicked on “Blogs of Note” and found some great pics of blogs, click on this one:
http://www.emyselfandi.com/ and not surprisingly I found it very interesting!

Here are my comments:
Hello all! I teach a Master Blog Class and promote "Blogs of Note" to students. This blog was one that I found interesting, clicked on the link and got here and found it very interesting; filled with useful information! It's well designed too.

One of my daughters has just had her first son born a few weeks ago (has too daughters prior) and my other daughter has a 7 month old daughter so I will be sure to let them know about your wonderful blog!

One Blog helps Another

Blogs can help each other. I'll explain and demo here.

Last night I presented another success "in-class" How to Blog seminar.

I was reminded while teaching that blog posts don't have to take time and be "long winded". I explain further at my other blog (which is about Blogging as Therapy):

There, I just did! You are at this blog and I’ve asked you to take a quick look at my other blog. Blogs can help each other! Think of ways how you can do the same with your blogs.

Twin Ports Life FRONT PAGE is also on Blog

Hello fellow bloggers.

I've shared before about how everything we do on the Internet be it blogging, or creating a website, and even when using other social media, everything needs to tie together nicely- always think in ways that you can do this. I remember when a mentor of mine, Tom Antion once told me that when working on one product (as a blogger, blogs are a “product”), be thinking about how this can be turned into another product.

Today I will show you how I do this with a website that I maintain called: www.twinportslife.com and the blog that is built for it.

Every month I comment on a few of the upcoming events in and around the Twin Ports. I place this on the very first page of the site. I sometimes link to a few websites of places and businesses I speak about in my blurb. This is called “link love” because I just do it without getting anything back directly but it helps send traffic to those sites and “what goes around comes around” and I’m thinking that others may do the same in creating links and sending traffic to my sites sometime.

One of the links of course is to my blog: http://twinportslife.blogspot.com/. At this blog I share about places I’ve dined, and wined, and had a good time. Also, I place both my “Front Page” comments and the listing of the monthly events on the blog and keep them up for one year or more so they are archived for those who visit www.twinportslife.com would like to know about events of years past.

If I can assist you with this or anything other blog related, let me know.

Make it a great day!

Make Money Blogging by Writing an Article

In the classroom setting when I teach blogging, one question is: “How do I make money blogging”. In this blog you’ll see many ways but today I’m sharing with my readers exactly how I did this one money making task. In my case, I have a couple of websites and I want to use my blog to bring traffic to it. I wrote a short article, placed it on Hubpages (I will be sharing how to get a Hubpages account in the future but you can go there yourself and do everything yourself; it’s pretty easy). Then I linked it to my website: www.terscott.com.
Next, I emailed my customers and told them when they go and read the article they can choose from getting free shipping on imprinted promotional items or a discount on the virtual Internet version of the Master Blog Class. Here is the email I sent:
Read my latest article at http://terscott.hubpages.com/hub/Seeking-Good-Counsel and vote it up and you can choose between these two offers:
You can get free shipping on your first order of anything ordered from Newton Manufacturing via my website:www.myimprintrep.com .
OR...
Don’t need to save substantially on your imprinted promotional items like pens, mugs, apparel, and calendars?
Then here’s option two; everyone needs to blog about something. Go here and read 10 reasons why you need to blog and join my Internet MASTER BLOG CLASS for only $19 instead of the usual $29. Just place MAYHUB in both of the attendance code boxes when registering.
Make it a great day!
Ter
So now, you can see one technique to make money with your blog. Everything ties together when you blog, write articles, have a website, etc. Think creatively and think how you can use what I just did to bring people to your websites and then turn them into buyers.

How to add a review for and Amazon product, and Add an Amazon Widget to your Blog or Site

In one of my recent blog posts I mentioned a great book that I read by Sylvester Stallone (yes he is not only “Rambo” but he does write and writes well). In the Master Blog Class, I speak about writing reviews in Amazon and linking your “signature” to your website or blog. Here I will show you how I do so and how I add an Amazon Widget to my blog or site; then you can follow the steps.
For anyone who registered in the MASTER BLOG CLASS course, you can get this outline complete with visuals by emailing me at the email address you have on file from your materials. Be sure to use AMAZON WIDGET in the subject line so I or my staff will open it without deleting it. If you came upon this blog via the world wide web highway, you may get it at no cost too! Just go to www.terscott.com/masterblogclass and submit your information in the “register” area and place: AMAZON WIDGET in the coupon code box. On the other hand, better still, register to be a MASTER BLOG CLASS member and get everything for only $29.00; students will tell you that it is worth every penny!
In this post I am showing you the steps without the visuals, and much of the content; just to get you going while you wait for your Pdf. file.
First, I went to www.Amazon.com and did a search for Sylvester Stallone (in books):
I then got a list of books by and about him.
Since I already have the book, I will leave my review and then get a Carousel Widget which will display on my blog(s) so if someone wants to purchase it, it’s available with a simple “click” on the ad widget. The widget will bring the person to Amazon and if a purchase is made, I get some money.
I will first create an honest review.
I click on the title and a more detailed page opens.
I click on “customer reviews” and another page opens.
Now for the fun part; the place where I can give my “two cents worth” and link my name to my website and hopefully bring some traffic to my site or blog. I click now on the “create you own review” button.
I wasn’t logged in so I first get the log in screen.
Now I can create my review!
Wow, you can even do a video review; cool. I don’t have time now but I certainly will do so in the future. For now I will write and submit a review. Because I don’t want to be “embarrased” by having misspellings in the reveiw that the “world sees” I follow my tip that I share with my followers: compose everything in a word type of document (not worrying about editing until completed so as to let the “creative juices” flow) to be able to catch any glaring spelling or grammatical errors. (I even quickly went online to my friend: dictionary.com to see if I spelled grammatical correctly).
Here are my comments:
As a person who sits at a desk writing and showing others how to write, blog and market via the Internet, I was concerned about exercising. When I came across this book I was first intrigued that the book was written by a “Rambo” type but then thought, “well who else but someone with a great physique to write a book about getting into shape”? I got it and learned so much. This guy gives fit facts in a funny way that makes this an easy read and a good work out manual. Well done!
I will now post my comments with my website displayed and link my name to my blog. (While still in Microsoft Word, I highlight my name, right click to display the action box, click on hyperlink and then add the blog address. The box closes and my name is now hyperlinked. I now copy and paste my comments with my name and website to the Amazon comment box. I then click to submit my review and get this box that states my review is being processed. Here is a tip, if Amazon moderates all reviews before publishing, we should moderate the comments on our blogs before posting; just a thought.
Now I am not sure if the links on my name or website will remain or if they’ll include them at all. I will check back in a few days. You can look to see by going to Amazon and searching for the book and then clicking on comments to find me. The reason I’m doing this (and you should) is to get our name out on the Internet as another opportunity for people to find us when doing a search. Here is an example of another review I did. To find it quickly for this article, I did a word search in Google with this: Ter Scott Dave Lindahl Amazon. Here is what came up:
Here’s what that one looks like on Amazon:
*When checking back, it appears that the links will not show here at Amazon. However, I’m leaving the steps on how to do this here because these are the steps you’ll use when posting a review at other places such as on Internet Yellow Pages etc.
Now I add an Amazon Carousel Widget to my blog (you can do the same steps to add to your site; just copy the same HTML code and use whatever steps necessary to add the HTML code to your site).
I scroll to the bottom of Amazon page and find “Make Money With Amazon”.
I click on “Become an Affiliate” link. (If you are not yet an affiliate, simply follow the sign up steps to do so). This opens a new window; at the top of the page are tabs, I click on the “widgets” tab.
There are many to choose but I click on the Carousel type.
I then place the words: “Sylvester Stallone” in the search box to find products. I then click the “go” button.
I click on the “add product” button which places the selected items to the right of the page. These will be added to my carousel widget.
I notice that the book isn’t coming up in the search so I change from “Amazon.com” to “Books” and click on the “go” button; now this is more like it:
I chose a few books and a few videos (because again, we always need to “consider our audience” and offer what we think they would want).
I click on the “Next step” button.
A preview now shows. I realize that I want a “Ferris wheel” style that is a vertical “look” rather than the “Carousel” which is the horizontal format; you choose what you want to fit into the design of the blog.
OK, that’s better. I do want the products shuffled so that box remains checked. I will show the title but change it to: Sylvester Stallone’s Best; hopefully people will use this search term and will find my blog!
I keep the default size and here it is:
I click on the “Add to Webpage” button (even though I’ll add it to a blog). A window opens with a bunch of HTML code, I copy it and add it to by blog site.
To add this to blogger, first I copy the code. I then sign in to blogger, find the blog I want to add this widget, open the design page, click on layout, click on add a gadget, choose the html option and paste this code into the box and click save. (If these steps within blogger are unclear, consider registering for the MASTER BLOG CLASS, which includes a pdf manual on how to do this or if you already have, refer to the manual). Voila! There is my Ferris wheel gadget!
Now you know how you can get more traffic to your blog (or site) by writing a review in Amazon for a book (or other product). And, I’ve shown how to add a Carousel or Ferris wheel widget to your blog.
Make it a great day!

Updated MASTER BLOG class manual available

Hello, have you been to this MASTER BLOG CLASS BLOG frequently?

I’ve added several great posts that you don’t want to miss.

Blogger has a new look and I’ve changed the original pdf of the course manual to reflect this. If you are a current Master Blog Class Member you can get the updated version FREE! How? Just email me at the email I’ve given you when you registered and I’ll email it to you.

I’ve also added a post about Linkshare (and a display ad on the right side of this blog) so you can click on it, go to Linkshare and become a member. There you’ll be able to apply for placing advertisers on your blog and make money every time one of your readers clicks on it; cool huh? Note that I stated “apply” because not all advertisers will think your site or blog is “worthy” or “relevant” to what they offer and will decline your request. No problem, there are tons of others.

Also a hint that I stated in a recent classroom setting for this Master Blog Class is that there are always “new” advertisers listed. These companies are “hungry” to be listed on sites and blogs and their criteria is usually less stringent and you’ll find success with being able to list them on your site and/or blogs. Please, be sure to honor these advertisers by continually building your blog with content and posts; no “ghost blogs” from my students OK? Build a good blog and the advertisers will see action and you’ll see profits. What goes around comes around!

I recently found out about a virus that can harm your blogs, sites, and your computer if you are not careful. Read the post on this blog.

Here’s a comment from one of the newest students of the Master Blog Class: Good overview; Lots of helpful information. There should be two sessions to help one feel confident in beginning to blog”.

If you know of someone who has attended the blog class with you and has not registered to receive the pdf of the class manual or is missing out on all of this good stuff, let them know that they need to register at: http://www.terscott.com/blogclass to get it because after any class, I send one or two “reminder” emails to the class roster and that’s it.

I will from time to time “stay in touch” with those who have registered such as with a recent email, just to let you know that I’m “out here for you” and that I know you can do this.

Remember it only takes five minutes to create your blog. When you have your blog up, (don’t worry that it’s not “perfect”) let me know in the comments area and I’ll share it with the others in future posts.

Make it a great day!
Ter

Don't Click: www3 DOT bestbxcleaner DOT com

When I was checking the the web traffic sources shown as to where traffic has come from on my Write Publish Profit blog, I saw a malicious hacker site had visited it. IMPORTANT TIP: When you see a site you are not familiar with DO NOT click on it from your blog traffic panel; it may contain a virus. Retype the site into a search such as Google Search and find out what others are saying about it. If it is a legitimate site, you may consider contacting them and seeing if they have a link on their site and if so thank them.

For instance, I just created and published this blog recently and I saw that I have a strange looking site as a traffic source: www3 DOT bestbxcleaner DOT com (I've added the word DOT here so it is not a “live” link in which you may inadvertently click it and get a virus!). Do not “copy and paste” any address into to search engine because simply by “touching it” the link may open thereby opening the virus.

I wrote the address down on paper, typed it into Google and saw others talking about it.

It’s clear that this is a nasty site simply out to hurt people and their blogs and sites. Be careful when seeing Google results too not to click on something that looks “suspicious” as well. But do click on some of these forums etc. and see what others are saying. I found one site that seems legit and offers other sites and links of what NOT to click along with this word of advice: “How do i get rid of it?
One of the most easiest solution is not to click on the link which appear in your statistics details. Be aware please do not click, But there are many scripts or programs which are easily available on Internet.” You can read the list, and more at: Lord HTML: http://lordhtml.blogspot.com/2012/04/beware-www4best-arucheckercom-is-spam.html NOTE: This author does not necessarily endorse anything from/on this site.

Learn more about blogging by visiting this site often and consider purchasing the Master Blogging Course by clicking on the ad at the right.

Make it a great day!

Make Money With LINKSHARE

One question I always get from students of my Master Blogging Class "Create a Blog in 5 Minutes and Make Money Forever" is: HOW DO I MAKE MONEY?

Here's one sure way. Click on the LINKSHARE image on this blog to go to a Sign Up area where you can then apply to get links of advertisers for your blogs and sites. You do have to apply and be approved so pay attention to the ones you choose. Be sure that they have a purpose on your site and are relevant to your viewers.

HINT: You'll see "new" advertisers. These are companies that are eager to get "out there" and published on blogs and sites. Choose these first because they are "less picky".

That's it for today.

Happy Blogging!

Write your ebook today

Want to write an ebook? Yes, I'll be having another class in the Twin Ports soon, but why wait? Here's a great system by one of the masters:

If you want to find out how to develop, design, and write a professional quality how-to book so you can share your knowledge and passion with others -- no matter what your subject -- this eBook is your answer...

I met someone recently who told me he had been to Hawaii 22 times! Do you think that someone might want to know things that this guy knows? What about when the best times are to visit? The cheapest or the most expensive places to stay? Just like this guy, I know that you have an ebook inside you that's waiting to come out... and you can make money doing it.

"Do You Have A Hobby, Interest Or
Activity That You Are Passionate About?
Would You Like To Share It With Others
And Make Good Money Doing It?"

For more information on this great system, just check this out. And tell 'em Ter Scott sent you:

New day, new thoughts and new posts!

Hello all!

How's your blog doing? It's a new day with new thoughts, new things to say. Do you have a new post?

I know that you are out there blogging and having a good old time. Did you know that our thoughts become words, and our words become action? This is exactly what you do when you are blogging. You are helping your readers to experience and learn new things; things that they may never know if you hadn't told them.

I recently shared a quote in one of my other blogs: http://livelearnandreturn.blogspot.com/Eleanor Roosevelt told us: "With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts".

Here are a few sources to help you with creating content for your blogs. I invite you to click on the links and glean as much from each author of the site as many offer so many things free. Then of course if you like what you see, consider purchasing to support not only their dreams but to better improve your own skills as well.

Turn your blog posts into articles and use part of articles you write into blog posts. You know that I'm always telling you that you can "piggy back" and "reinvent" what you write to use over and over again. Well here's a system that shows you how to use your creativity of writing into short articles and get paid of it. Again, at least go to this site and check it out. Read it, you don't have to buy anything unless you think this is right (or write) for you. Here it is: Make Money Writing Easy, 350-500 Word Web Articles

Well that's it for now. Again if you have questions or comments I am here for you. Just leave them at the end of this article.

Best of continued success!

Ter

Terrific. Ennergizing. Results!

PS. Here are some quotes to motivate those creative juices:

I want to know all Gods thoughts; all the rest are just details.
Albert Einstein

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think.
Buddha

A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes.
Mahatma Gandhi

Books serve to show a man that those original thoughts of his aren't very new at all.
Abraham Lincoln

Travel, Blog and Get Paid!

Wow, if you've been reading my posts about how to create and profit from blogging, I've got some great news for you today.

First, Blogger has a new look; OK, not so "good". It's nice and stuff, just that it "looks" different. I teach online at several places and this is much like a textbook change. When you take my blogging course, you'll note that I am showing the "old" look of Blogger but you should get the idea how to do everything; it just looks different. If and when you have questions, just leave your comments. This way when I do get around to updating the course, your need will be addressed.

OK, here's the news I wanted to tell you about as another way to make money blogging... it's this. Get paid to travel! That's right, you're traveling for business or pleasure, why not make a little something on the side? (How about A LOT of something?).

Check out "Travel Blog Success - Ecourse & Community" that is shown on this page. Just click on th link; it might be just what you are looking for. Here's a brief description:

Well that's if for today. Again, if you are registered and taking this course, be sure to sign on as a follower so you'll get updates as to when I post something.

Here's how to add a photo to Blogger blog from another site

Recently I placed a post in my Attainment Rule blog (which is actually a website that first started as a blog: http://www.attainmentrules.com/) and because I placed a couple of images on the post that I got from the Internet, I thought perhaps that this would be something my MASTER BLOG CLASS readers would like assistance in doing so on their blogs. First go ahead and visit: www.attainmentrules.com and see the post about “Have You Given of Yourself Today?” post. You’ll see two pictures pertaining to the blog about “hugging”. You might even like the content and continue as a regular visitor and supporter of the blog. Basically it’s a blog where I encourage people to do more in their life; hey, maybe you’ll see something that will kick you into gear and get your own blog up and profiting!
Now that you’ve seen the two pictures(if you’ve gone to the attainment site), I will present a step by step how I added them from the Internet (not from those that I have on my computer).
If you are a reader who is “in this MASTER BLOG CLASS” having either been in a physical workshop or have registered online (click on the “fingers on keyboard” picture at the right for details), you may email me requesting a pictograph walk thru of this step by step method at no cost, using the email address you’ve been given.
Why would a blogger/site owner like you or me want to pull pictures from another site? It’s all about links. Just as we want people who have sites relevant to ours to link to us, they usually appreciate incoming links too. Do you have a website with a photo that you want your blog readers to visit? Using this method works to get your website picture on your blog that contains the link to your site.
Also, linking to another’s site is a form of the “giving away” principle I speak of at www.attainmentrules.com, because when someone sees this picture when visiting your blog or site, they might click on it and go to the original site and buy something from that site, or maybe both the site owner and visitor might be benefited in some other way. NOTE: Unless the picture has a copyright or phantom “watermark” on it, you are probably safe in using it on your site or blog as long as you “link” to the original site. Of course, its common courtesy to ask first, but I’ve never had a problem, and have actually received “thanks” for the added traffic to the original site I’ve linked the picture to. A CAVEAT: I’m not a lawyer, so these last sentences about using pictures from the Internet are not to be construed as “legal consul” and are to be used solely for “entertainment purposes”!
First, find the blog that you want to add a new post. I search my over 105 blogs and find that I haven’t placed a post in my “No Fees Marketing” blog where I actually give away my consulting services at no cost to non profit organizations. (You’ll see that that first entry for this blog was on my birthday; February 20th; a time when my thoughts were about “giving more” of myself).
Open your selected blog in the area for posting by clicking the NEW POST button. Because I don’t trust “building” my post within this area, I open a Word document, and create and edit my thougths there before copying and pasting in the post area.
I then complete my article post, copy and paste it from Word, into the posting area of Blogger. I usually come up with the title (which is typically also the “label”) after placing the content into the posting areas.
Now let’s find some pictures on the Net that will enhance our post’s message. I don’t want to find pictures of non profit’s (copy written) logos and I do want the pictures to be a bit general in nature. Every non profit wants money, so I open another web browsing page (don’t exit Blogger) and go to my trusted Google search bar and enter “paper money” because the word “money” may bring me too many results and “I haven’t got all day”. This brings up the suggested sites, but I want pictures so I now click on the “images” tab. These images show single bills; I want “stacks of money” so I place that key phrase in the search bar. Oh yeah, now we’re on to something. I like the first one and click on it to find the website.
When clicking, a page like this appears:
I click on “Website for this image” link. Well OK, this site is no longer up on the net, and the domain name is for sale. Hmmmm, opportunity anyone? I also like the stack of money shown (and the piggy banks look nice too, I may “edit” my content of my post just so I can include those little “cuties), I click on the image of the stack of money.
I click on the “Website for this image” link. This one works and it takes me to a site. I look at the site and find the picture of the stack of money.
I think I’ve seen this picture of money “a million” times on the Internet so I’m not too worried about anything, and like I’ve said prior, I will link it to the original site (actually the Blogger gadget system does the work).
Find the money; OK, find the image of the stack of money and right click it. This opens a message box. Click on “properties”. This opens a “properties” box that looks like this; it reveals the “code”.
Highlight the URL address, copy it. Now open your blog again and place the cursor within the blog post where you’d like to see this picture. Next you’ll need to click on the “picture link” at the top of your blog post box. This opens a “select a file” box. Click on “from a URL”.
Paste the URL code in the area that opens to you, and the image should automatically appear which indicates the image has been retrieved.
Click on the “add selected” button and the image is placed within your post. It’s easy to place in in a different location within your post if desired. Simply click on the image which creates the “handle bars” and move it where you would like.
I go back into my content and edit it to mention something about “saving money” so I can use those cute piggy banks. Ooops! When going to this site, I find that this photo is available for download at a price. Now I don’t mind paying, but I just wasn’t planning to spend or invest in photos this time. But, I’m now in the mood for “piggies”. I search and find some, follow the steps above to enter the picture in my post. I’m then satisfied with the looks of the post and the content so I click on “publish” and my post (with the pictures) is published. I click on view blog to see what it looks like. I then click on the pictures to see that the links to the sites is live (brings you to the sites you took the pictures).
If all is well, I close my blog knowing that I’ve now given my readers something to read and look at; plus the web robots have fresh content to “munch on”.
NOTE: Don’t use too many images within your blog post, make sure that the images enhance the message you are making, and try to get images that look similar in style and design.
At the end of my content I state the following (you may choose to use something similar): Images in this post are from other Internet sites. Feel free to visit those sites (by clicking on the images) and purchase any products or services offered. I’m not necessarily “endorsing” any products or services offered but in this way, I’m offering my “thanks” for being allowed the use of the images.
That’s it for today; make it a great one!

What, blogging is actually good for you?

Recently I ran across a great article about blogging in the Scientific American written by Jessica Wapner. She has some great things about how blogging can be therapeutic. Since I will soon be presenting a workshop about this I was fascinated with her comments. Here is just a few sentences from the article. Please continue to http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=the-healthy-type to read all of it:
Self-medication may be the reason the blogosphere has taken off. Scientists (and writers) have long known about the therapeutic benefits of writing about personal experiences, thoughts and feelings. But besides serving as a stress-coping mechanism, expressive writing produces many physiological benefits. Research shows that it improves memory and sleep, boosts immune cell activity and reduces viral load in AIDS patients, and even speeds healing after surgery. A study in the February issue of the Oncologist reports that cancer patients who engaged in expressive writing just before treatment felt markedly better, mentally and physically, as compared with patients who did not.
So, don’t just take my word on it, blogging IS GOOD!

Ter Scott says about blogging: "Just Do It"

Just Do It!
We all know the slogan. But do we all “just do it”? I have taught many how to get started in creating a simple web presence by creating a blog using most or all of the tools Blogger offers, yet many still are on the outside looking in. I will again present a few reasons why to start and maintain a blog and it’s up to the reader to either take action and reap the rewards of being an “author” and make money, or watch others do it.
On my main marketing site (www.terscott.com), I have a page where people all over the world can register for this master blog class. I mention it here because it’s on this page (www.terscott.com/blogability)* that I list Ten Reasons Why Blogging is Good for You and Good for Business. Number three on the list is: “Establish Yourself as an Expert”. This one thing alone can be worth millions of dollars to you and your business. Become a “follower” at the upper right hand corner of this site, and you’ll continue to learn ways to get on with “doing it”.
*Blogability, a word that means “being able to blog creatively, responsibly, and successfully”; coined by Ter Scott at http://www.terscott.com/

Here's How You Can ADD VIDEO to Your Blog

Today I'm showing my blog clients how to add a video right inside this box when they are adding posts to their blogs. You can request a step by step procedure for doing this at www.terscott.com/blogarticles. (If you don't see this page on my site just now, please give me a couple of days because I have to create it yet at the time of this post).

I've chosen to add a video here about my website: http://www.myimprintrep.com/. It's a site that shares ways to promote a business or organization using "Anything With An Imprint".

So now before I leave you with this post, let me list the steps to placing a video on your blogger page (as seen at: http://marketingmasterclass.blogspot.com/ or as shown here, within the content of your blogger post. Remember that if you are a member of the Master Blog Class, you can email me using the email revealed in class to ask me any questions or simply leave your questions or comments after this post.

STEPS (Without Pictures) to ADD VIDEO TO BLOGGER
Today we’ll go over how to add a video to your Blogger Blog. First log in to Blogger, and open the dashboard.

Next, scroll down if necessary and choose your blog. Today I’ll choose one of my marketing blogs since I have a few marketing videos out there on YouTube. I’ve chosen my Be A Marketing Master Blog. You can see it at: http://marketingmasterclass.blogspot.com/.

Click on the “Design” link and this will open what I call the “backroom” where you can change the “look” of your blog.

Because I like my videos and other “elements” usually on the side running along side the posts, I will choose (by clicking) the “add a gadget” from the side versus the top or bottom of my blog:

I’m not going to explain how to shoot and save your own video here. I am making the assumption that you have a video saved on your computer or have one out there on YouTube. I’m going to first show you how to transfer one to your blog, and later how to add videos to your actual post. For now, follow me as I go to YouTube:

You can see that I’m already signed in at the top right. I then do a search for my videos by placing my name in the search bar.

I see two of them and I will choose the one where I teach my Master Marketing Series.

Below the video there is a “share” button. Placing my mouse over this button it states:”Share or embed” this video. I click there. Now you’ll see some html code that is highlighted. Right click and copy this code. Let’s now return to blogger.
Click on “add a gadget” and open the HTML gadget.

Paste the code into the content area of the gadget. Note that I usually don’t fill in titles for a better “visual” on the blog, but knowing that the search engines “look” for this when visiting, and since I want the viewers to “check this out” I will add a title this time; it’s always optional. I then click on “save” and we return to the backroom.

You’ll see at the top that it states:”Page element added. View Blog” but because I’m cautious and have lost things in the past and had to redo things, I again click on the orange “SAVE” button (doesn’t hurt to do this), I then click to see my blog:

And there is the video! Wow, very cool. However, depending on the layout of your blog, you’ll see that part of the video is cut off. I’m not overly concerned with this particular video because most everything is “seen” as it plays. However, when I’m creating the video to be played in my blogger blog, I will be sure to have all of my wording “flush left”, that is to have it all on the left side of the screen. If you choose to have your video in the top or bottom positions, you’ll have the full video and this won’t be a concern.
Now, let’s add a video right inside your post. Depending on whether you want visitors to always see your post as I have chosen with placing it on the side of the blog, or only for the duration of your post as we’ll discuss now, will be your choice. Placing a video within the content of your post is as simple as adding a picture within the content area. Here’s how.
Again, first find the blog you want to add this video and find your video either on your computer or on YouTube. I will use the same video from YouTube but I’ll choose a different blog. I will place this video on my Master Blog Class Blog at: http://masterblogclass.blogspot.com/.

Open the backroom or use whatever option you want to place a “new post” on your blog. Add content to the post area. Here’s a tip, when posting I usually create all my content in a word document for several reasons. One, this shows areas that need to be edited and two, I can save it and later perhaps use it for an eBook, or other written product. Here I’m just going to show on the blog how to add a video so I’ll take my chances and trust my grammar and spelling and type directly into the content box.

On the task bar you see the word: “Link”. To the right of that is the picture icon and next to that is the video icon; click on it.
Here you’ll either browse from your computer, or with my case here, I will click on “my YouTube videos” to find my video.

Well, this is odd. I don’t see my YouTube video for my Master Marketing Series so instead of taking your time to find it and “fix” this, I’m choosing my Imprinted Promotional Products video which I use to promote my website: www.myimprintrep.com. I need to go back into Blogger and modify my content in my post and I’ll be right back. OK, I’m back.

Get back to this spot, and click on your video to select it, click on “select” and there you are.
Make it a great day! Ter
